The most powerful content doesn’t just show a product. It makes the audience feel seen.

I love working with brands who have include : a specific avatar. Instead of sending me a rigid script full of “dos and don’ts,” they gave me context. They described the exact person I was speaking to their struggles, desires, and what mattered most to them.

For example, the brief doesn't just say: “Talk about the benefits of our skincare serum.”It says “You’re speaking to a 30-year-old mom who juggles work and kids. She’s tired of products that promise results but irritate her sensitive skin. She wants to feel confident on Zoom calls without makeup.”

That changes everything. Suddenly, I'm not just promoting a serum. I'm speaking directly to her.

Why Avatars Work

When brands provide detailed avatars, they give creators the gift of empathy. Suddenly, I’m not just talking to a camera. I’m talking to her  the busy mom, the wellness lover, the budget-conscious shopper. And when I know who she is, I can mirror her energy, her voice, her reality. That’s when content stops feeling like an ad and starts feeling like a conversation.

Scripts vs. Context

Scripts ONLY can be restrictive. They often sound stiff and disconnected because they focus on what not to say instead of who we’re speaking to. Context is liberating. A clear avatar gives me the freedom to improvise, to be authentic, and to create something that resonates deeply.

The Takeaway

If you want UGC that lands, give creators more avatars and context and fewer rules and restrictions. Content built on empathy makes audiences feel seen. And when people feel seen, they trust. And when they trust, they buy.
